Put these things in the sun after washing to effectively clean them!
Were you aware that nature can contribute to cleansing your kitchenware? We use a lot of cleaning products on a daily basis but rarely think easy additional cleaning solutions exist in nature itself. The sun’s rays can help with cleaning the utensils. After washing and drying, place the items in a sunny are for few hours and enjoy the natural magic the sun brings in making them even cleaner!
1. Wooden cutting board
Some people claim that the sun rays can “disinfect” a wooden cutting board. As nice as this idea might seem, there is no conclusive research proving this claim. However, we know that exposing a wooden cutting board to sun ensures that the drying process goes faster, which in turn helps with limiting the increase of bacteria.
2. Garbage can
If you find your trash can is smelling after washing it, then take it outside, wipe it with a disinfectant solution and let it dry in the sun for a while. You will discover that the sun rays and fresh air help with removing the smell.
3. Grime in the refrigerator
Your refrigerator draws are often stained and dirty after some use? To clean them effectively, mix some warm water with soap, scrub the drawers and put them in the fun for a few hours. They will be sparkling clean, new as bought again!
4. Lunch boxes
If you find yourself regularly using plastic lunch boxes, filling them with pasta & tomato sauce; you will probably notice that even after washing them, a faint red color always stained the plastic. In order to get rid of that, put some lemon juice inside the lunch box, shake it and leave it in the sun for a while, it will remove the red stains once for all!
5. Shopping bag
Using the same shopping bag regularly is not sanitary. Just think about it: you put the bag on the floor in the supermarket, in your car and then on your counter. Yuck! Shopping bags that cannot be washed in the washing machine should also be cleaned regularly. Wipe these bags with a cloth and then put them in the sun for a few hours. The bags are ready for use again!
